Andrés Anglada House - Paseo de Gràcia

Casa Andrés Anglada was designed by Domènec Balet in 1889, on the corner of Paseo de Gracia and Aragón street, just in front of the old railway stop.

The building originally consisted of semi-basements, ground floors and four storeys and was the subject of various reforms, the first to adapt the ground floor to install shops.

Later, he presented the interior design project for the oratory and dining room for the main floor of this house at the First Fine Arts Exhibition in Barcelona in 1891 (among many other projects), but unfortunately we do not have any photographs at the moment.

During the Franco period, the building was rebuilt and an additional height was added to the corner part, which damaged the balustrade that initially crowned the façade.

The building was almost a hundred years old when it was demolished in 1977 and replaced by a new office building inaugurated in 1983, which combines marble and glass on its façade and was the headquarters of the Galician banking entity Banco Pastor, now defunct .
